Comprehensive Eye Exams
We are proactive in your eye exam.
We like to stay up-to-date with technology. We use the latest in retinal imaging to get high-definition imaging of the retina that detect microscopic detail that we can’t see with our eyes. You won’t find old school equipment here for your eye exam. Better yet, we don’t blow air into your eyes. You don’t believe us? Come see for yourself.

Eye Emergency
Eye emergencies happen. We're here to help.
​
Our eyes are delicate, and even a seemingly minor problem can permanently compromise your vision. If you experience any of the following, please get medical help ASAP:

Sudden loss of vision

A foreign object in your eye

Sudden onset of flashes or floaters

Swelling around your eye

Corneal Abrasion - a scratch on the surface of your eye

If you are experiencing an eye emergency, please call our office at 403-454-5880 and we will do our best to get you in the same day. Alberta Health Care covers these medically necessary visits.
Diabetic Eye Exams
Although diabetes is a systemic disease, it can often first be identified and diagnosed during an eye exam.
Diabetes increases your chances of developing serious eye diseases and conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.

Diabetic eyes require special care and attention, which is why Respect Eyecare offers eye exams tailored to their needs.
Individuals with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes should see their optometrist at least annually, even if they are not experiencing any symptoms with their health or vision.

Kid Eye Exams
Clear vision is the ultimate superpower.

Clear vision plays a critical role in a child’s learning, both inside and outside the classroom. When our children’s vision is compromised, it conflicts with their development and ability to learn.

Annual eye exams in Calgary allow our optometrists to your child’s eyes work well and staying healthy, so they can reach their full potential. We use digital wide-field imaging for all of our kids to proactively manage their eye health as part of their eye exam.

We use the latest microscopic, 3D, cross-sectional retinal imaging instruments to accurately monitor your macula health, recommend supplementation when beneficial, and refer to trusted ophthalmology centres when needed.

Specialty Contact Lens fitting
Do you have astigmatism? Do you wear reading glasses? Have you been told in the past that you're not a candidate for contact lenses?

We urge you to come to see us. Lens technology continues to evolve. What was not possible 5, 10, 20 years ago is highly possible now. Our optometrists take pride in fitting toric, multifocal, hybrid, RGP, and scleral contact lenses that cover the majority of visual conditions that glasses or conventional contact lenses were not able to correct.

Contact lens exams and fittings ensure that we find the right contact lens to fit with your lifestyle. For those who already wear contact lenses, our optometrists always recommend the latest in technology so you're wearing the most breathable and moist lenses. Cataract and Laser Surgery Consultation

We now know that dry eye is a disease and have figured out in-office and at-home therapy to treat it beyond simply relying on generic artificial tears at your local pharmacist.

Myopia Control
We are amazed at the number of times we meet a child wearing glasses and have never been recommended options to proactively manage their nearsightedness.
There's no cure for myopia, but there sure are many therapies available to slow the change. including prescription eye drops, glasses, and contact lenses.
